Riot Games

Spirit Blossom is a seasonal event created by Riot Games for League of Legends. Inspired by Japanese folklore and festival traditions, it reimagines champions as mystical spirits and guardians in a beautifully crafted world of cherry blossoms, mythology, and storytelling.

We were commissioned to develop a licensing style guide that captured the rich visual identity of one of Riot Games’ most celebrated and immersive universes.

Collaborating closely with the Riot creative team, we crafted an anime-inspired approach for the characters, evocative of mythic storybooks and traditional Shinto-inspired aesthetics. Japanese influences were woven into the patterns, graphics, crests, and symbols surrounding the champions, creating a cohesive style that felt both authentic to the lore and visually memorable.

The final guide provided licensees with clear creative direction, enabling consistent applications across apparel, products and packaging.
